Background.
Michelle has been battling Leukemia since early 2007. After her 5th round of chemotherapy, her cancer finally "went away." For the past several months she was finally able to return to normal life. However, just last she learned she had relapsed with her blood levels worse off than before.

What this means: Michelle needs to find a bone marrow match for a transplant within 5 weeks.

Finding a Match.
Michelle is of Vietnamese / Chinese decent, and the probability is higher that her match will come from a person of one or both of these ethnic backgrounds. However, a match could be from any ethnic descent (even non-Asian or Caucasian). Consequently, "Project Michelle" volunteers are targeting ALL ASIANS to increase the odds of finding a match. By getting more people to register to be potential bone marrow donors, we are increasing the chance of saving Michelle and any one of the 6,000 people in the US currently searching for a donor.

How You Can Help.

1. 5 minutes: Direct your friends / family to this post to get them involved
   
2. 30 minutes: Register, it's simple: 1) fill out a few forms and 2) run a cotton swab on the inside of your cheek
• The Ideal Way: Go to a local drive. This ensures your cotton swab samples are processed fastest. Click here for a calendar of drives
• At Home: If you can't make it to a drive, order a home kit here (free for ethnic minorities). Make sure to note that it's for Michelle to expedite the process!
3. 1+ Hours: Volunteer at a drive and help people register - email savemichelle@gmail.com

The playlist below is a rather eclectic mix, and as such I don't think I can properly fit it into any overarching category. I think ambient/lounge would be the best way to describe it. There are some upbeat tracks and some downtempo. Regardless, while this is not an exhaustive list of my favorites, it does represent a number of tracks from some of my favorite artists/groups/dj's: Zero 7, Thievery Corporation, Kaskade, Morcheeba, Imogen Heap, Radiohead, Miguel Migs, Sia, Aya, Telepopmusik.

Unfortunately, due to the constraints of playlist.com I was unable to add tracks off my favorite compilation albums. If you like the playlist I'd encourage you to check out (if you haven't already) any cd's in the compilation series of: Cafe Del Mar, Buddha Bar, Hotel Costes, After Dark.

1. Rising Up - Roots ft. Chrisette Michelle : Off the roots latest album rising down (they're touring right now, with erykah badu in certain cities) great vocals from CM whose done some awesome hooks for jay-z and nas. also features wale who has been working with producer/dj mark ronson

2. Breathe You In - Samantha James :  love her voice..nice airy ambient vocals. She has 3 other great songs you should dl: Right Now, Rise, Angel Love. Also if you're dl'ing breathe you in get the Eric Kupper Remix.

3. Magnificent - Estelle ft. kardinal offishall : dig the accent, this one was produced by mark ronson. her collabo with kanye, american boy is a smash (last song on the playlist)

4. Machine Gun - Portishead : This is off their new album Third. I have been listening to this deliriously for the last 8 hours, it is sick. Pretty experimental and completely different from their last album dummy. cop it.

5. D.A.N.C.E. - Justice :  this song has been out for a minute, but it's definitely a part of the boom of french electronica - Justice, CSS, Telepomusik, Air..etc. Mark Ronson and Wale did a remix to this called w.a.l.e.d.a.n.c.e - check that out

6. The Healer - Erykah Badu :  off her latest New Amerykah..beat is nice and funky

7. Creator - Santogold:  she's drawn a lot of comparisons to M.I.A. ..given that she's worked with most of the same producers it makes sense

8. Royal Flush - Outkast ft. Raekwon :   3000's flow is always on point.

9. Nude - Radiohead:  this is my favorite track off Rainbows which was collectively an amazing album

10. American Boy - Estelle/Kanye
